The begining of YFC Ghana

YFC started in Ghana in 1967. A Nigerian by name Orlando Tempest brought the Ministry to Ghana. It started as a fellowship and meetings were held at Accra Community Centre, opposite to the Court.
There were few Churches in the system in the late sixties so YFC thrived. It was mainly school ministries in the middle schools in addition to rallies. A lot of young people zealous for the Lord joined YFC because YFC gave them the opportunity to share the Gospel.

The spread of YFC

The meetings at Accra Community Centre were later moved to Bible House, in the James town Community. Young people all over Accra were converging at Bible House for fellowship.
A new leader emerged at Bible House who was not okay with YFC using the Bible House premises as a place of meeting. He therefore ejected YFC from Bible House. This resulted in opening of new YFC centres across Accra and even to Tema. The new centres included Mamprobi, Kaneshie, Kokomlemle etc.
In addition, some of the people in Accra YFC who left for Cape Coast because of school and work and family started YFC Cape Coast. The same way Ashanti Region, Eastern Region and Volta regions were started.
